Who we are
Chicago Cost of Living (chicagocostofliving.com) is run by Joe Bjorklund in Chicago. Questions about this policy can go through our contact page.
What we collect
- Messages you send us. If you email us a correction or tip, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply and check your information. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, WordPress stores your name, email address, website (if you give one), IP address and browser details to help catch spam. Your email isn’t shown publicly. A scrambled version of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile picture; see Automattic’s privacy policy.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets a few functional cookies only if you leave a comment (to remember your name for next time) or sign in to the site.
Third-party services
Our pages use the Poppins font from Google Fonts, which means your browser loads it from Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
We link to many outside sources so you can check our numbers. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave ours.
Analytics and advertising
We don’t use either right now. If we add analytics or ads in the future, we’ll update this page before they go live and change the effective date above.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete a message you sent or a comment you left by getting in touch through our contact page. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
