Cost of living in Chinatown, Chicago (2026)

Key takeaway: A one-bedroom in Chinatown rents for about $1,500 a month in fall 2026 by Zumper’s count and up to $2,200 for newer units on RentHop, two-bedrooms about $1,650 to $1,700, and the Red Line, Metra and a water taxi to downtown are all close by.

Chinatown sits south of the South Loop around Cermak Road, Wentworth Avenue and Archer Avenue, with Ping Tom Memorial Park on the river. It’s a short ride to the Loop with lower rents than the South Loop next door. Here’s what it costs.
