Key takeaway: A one-bedroom in Lakeview rents for about $2,195 to $2,350 a month in fall 2026, studios about $1,500 to $1,600, and the Red, Brown and Purple lines all stop at Belmont, so a $75 CTA pass covers most trips.

Parking
Many residential blocks are permit zones. Adding your zone to your City Sticker costs $25 to $35 a year (the City Clerk’s City Sticker page lists $25 and its zone parking FAQ lists $35), on top of a $105.18 sticker for a passenger car in 2026. Guest passes are $15 for a sheet of 15. Check your block with the Clerk’s zone lookup before you sign a lease if you’ll have a car. More in our Chicago parking guide.
Near Wrigley Field, Zone 383 covers Belmont to Irving Park and Broadway to Ashland, and it’s a tow zone from 5pm to 10pm on night game days for cars without that permit (44th Ward). Blocks with LV2 signs nearby have a free night game permit for residents (46th Ward).
Property taxes and home prices
Lakeview is in Lake View Township, which the Assessor reassesses every three years (Cook County Assessor). At the 2021 reassessment the median market value was $890,000 for a single-family home and $220,000 for a condo, so condos are the lower-cost way to own here. The Treasurer put the 2024 median sale price for the Lake View and Lincoln Park area at $1,425,000 (Cook County Treasurer, tax year 2024 report).
Citywide, the median Chicago homeowner bill for tax year 2025, mailed in August 2026, was $4,597, up 3.2% (Cook County Treasurer). The City Council also approved Special Service Area 17 (Central Lakeview/Wrigleyville), which adds a small levy on properties inside it (City Council ordinance). For how bills are set and how to appeal, see our property tax guide.
